Laurclavagh is a small townland nestled between the old N17, New Line, Caherlea and Castlehackett. Several hundred people have made this area their home and have built strong communities there.
A Cork based private energy company is proposing to build nine giant wind turbines and electrical substation in this small area. So far, there has been very little information available about the project and how these monster 185 metre high turbines will impact the area and the families living there.
We are opposed to the project because of the size of the turbines and their proximity to so many homes. We believe these turbines pose health risks to people who live close to them and will cause irreversible damage to our local area.
Please follow our page for updates. We need to ensure that people in the Corofin, Corrandulla, Castlehackett and Belclare areas are informed about what is being proposed and how it will affect them and their families.

We are holding a public meeting upstairs at the community pitch hall in Belclare next Friday 01 December at 8pm to discuss the planning application for this proposed development.
We would encourage as many as possible to attend.
Please share this post and spread the word. We won’t get a second chance to protect our community and our beautiful landscape.
