Congratulations to Annaghdown resident Pete Foley on the success of Black Dragon Kickboxing gym. They received a Mayoral Reception at City Hall in Galway yesterday.
The Galway Black Dragon Kickboxing Gym was honoured at a Mayoral Reception at City Hall yesterday evening .Hosted by the Mayor of Galway City, Eddie Hoare, the reception was in recognition of the club’s unprecedented success at the Unified World Martial Arts Championships in Tuscany, Italy in October this year.Coached by Pete Foley, a team of 13 fighters won 12 gold, 12 silver and 6 bronze medals. The Mayor commended the athletes for their remarkable efforts in bringing international sporting recognition to the west of Ireland saying “any athletes who represented their club, town/city & country at International level need to get a special mention as they are also ambassadors for their Country. Black Dragon have been doing this with great pride & success for decades.” Each athlete was presented with a Certificate of Achievement by the Mayor.
