Under 17 Boys Basketball 🏀 League

In what was always going to be a tough competition against a strong Cumann Cispheile Mhaigh Cuilinn team, Vikings rose to the challenge in what proved to be an exciting game this evening. Moycullen took an early lead with a quick succession of baskets putting the score at 8-0 early in the game. A much needed time out was called by Vikings which appeared to settle the squad who finished the first quarter 13-9 to Moycullen. Annaghdown kept the intensity up in the second quarter with excellent defence that put Vikings a basket ahead going into the second half. Moycullen came into the third with a fast paced and energetic fast break that Vikings struggled to slow down and saw Moycullen score 17 points. Despite a good performance in the fourth by Vikings, Moycullen’s solid performance in the second half sealed the deal as they took the win with a final score of 56-42. Nonetheless, it was a superb performance from Vikings, in what coaches described as their best game this season! Well done to all involved.
