Last Friday night, December 1st, Annaghdown Vikings held a Table Quiz to raise funds needed for the continued growth and development of our club. With the start planned for 8pm a steady stream of club members and quiz fans quickly filled the tables of 4, with an extra body here & there on some tables! As the room filled extra tables and chairs were quickly sourced by Marty Clarke who kindly facilitated us in hosting our quiz in Clarkes Tavern. Sean Harkin kindly offered his quizmaster and compere skills for the night and he didn’t disappoint. James had prepared the questions and true to form there were some great questions with at least one teaser in every round that had most people scratching their heads. Donnacha kept the show on the road as scorekeeper and did an excellent job.
A raffle took place at the interval with a large selection of prizes very kindly donated by our incredible sponsors. Many thanks to all who donated prizes and congratulations to all the winners. And the senior men came up trumps passing through the pub at the break selling the raffle tickets.
The winning team on the night, “The Duffel Coats”, in an exciting twist decided to auction off their winning hamper in what proved to be an energetic crowd-pleaser which was deftly won by Richard Reddington.
Club chairperson Dennis Killilea on behalf of the club committee and wider club members wants to reiterate his sincere thanks to all who showed their support and backed their local basketball club in what proved to be a terrific event.
