Annaghdown Judo Club

Annaghdown Judo Club :Recent winners representing Annaghdown Judo Club at the Connacht championships held in Renmore were Conor Murray, Dylan McGrath,Ethan Forde, Cathal and Cian Heavey, Arjan O'Flaherty and coaches Brian Conway & Hubert Creaven.

Conor Murray had stepped up in age and weight and did very well to secure a gold and bronze against sizable opponents in two weight categories. Dylan McGrath had to use all his mat experience to secure the gold in a tough category. Ethan forde was very impressive in his first ever championships and secured the gold over team mate and friend Cathal Heavey in a very close battle for first and second. Cian Heavey showed his sportsmanship and determination and earned his place on the winners podium. Another first timer to competition Arjan O'Flaherty impressed his coaches and onlookers and got a much deserved meddle for his efforts.

Coaches Hubert Creaven & Brian Conway was delighted to see "all" of the Annaghdown competitors make it onto the winners podium and will be concentrating his efforts on repeating the performance in January at the All Ireland Championships in Dublin.
